Representative Projects
Project: Okeechobee Music Fest

The Okeechobee Music and Arts Fest at Sunshine Grove is a regional, comprehensive music and art experience in a natural old Florida environment. The last event occurred on Thursday March 1st through Sunday March 4th, 2018. Most attendees spend the night in the camping facilities. The festival drew attendees from throughout Florida and beyond with attendance projected at 40,000 attendees. Project: Penske Speedway/California Speedway – Fontana, CA
Client: Penske
Location: Fontana, CA
The California Speedway was proposed with three to six race events on designated weekends during the raceway season (April to September). The races draw capacity crowds of 80,000 when first opened and expanded to 105,000 in later years. O’Rourke Engineering created Traffic Management Plans for various days and types of events that occurred at the Speedway. Advanced planning was rigorous as this was the site of a steel mill turned into a speedway and business center. This venue has access to major freeways; however, those freeways have extensive congestion especially during Friday afternoons. Special programming was required to address these key challenges.
Project: Miami Beach Pop Festival
Client: Miami Beach Festival, LLC
Location: Miami Beach, FL
The Miami Beach Pop Festival is a 3-day cultural celebration of music, art, community and the flavor of Miami Beach. It is a national and international destination event that will drive tourism from around the world to Miami Beach. The event will occur on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the first or second weekend of November 2019 with preferred dates being November 8-10, 2019. The event will draw a maximum of 35,000 attendees per day. O’Rourke Engineering & Planning worked with multiple agencies to secure approval of the transportation plan. The plan incorporated a robust program of shuttles, parking, trolley, pedestrian activity, lane closures, signal preemption and special event timing plans.
